Empty Homes Grant Fund

Eligibility

Property must have lain empty for at least 6 months. Discretionary; awarded where Council considers demonstrable demand for housing. Grant capped per bedroom and directed at necessary improvements to bring properties up to a standard fit for occupation. Successful applicants must rent the property as affordable housing for minimum 5 years and let to a person working with the housing service.

Scottish council. Operates BOTH an Empty Homes Grant Fund (max £7,500 per bedroom) AND a £120k Empty Homes Loan Fund. Empty Homes Officer funded by the Scottish Empty Homes Partnership (SEHP).
