Eligibility

Property must have been empty for 1 year or longer. Loan covers essential works to remedy housing hazards so properties can become habitable. Owner contributes at least 25% of works cost. Secured as charge at Land Registry for 10 or 30 years depending on loan size; repaid (interest-free) when property is sold within that period. Enhanced funding available if owner agrees to let to council-nominated tenants who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
