Eligibility

Funds conversion of obsolete commercial premises to residential. Property must be vacant for at least 12 months and have planning permission granted for the conversion. Covers up to 50% of eligible works to a maximum of £75,000 per overall housing scheme. Subject to availability. Contact: privatehousing@cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk, 0151 356 6462.

Council tax premium

A property is classed as "long-term empty" once it has been unoccupied and substantially unfurnished for a qualifying period. The premium is charged on top of the standard council tax bill.
