As part of the Landlord Letting Scheme, the council commits to paying an agreed amount to the landlord if the tenant causes damage or leaves rent arrears, acting as deposit-style protection for council-referred tenants. Free membership scheme where the council refers tenants to private landlords. For family properties the council guarantees rent at the Local Housing Allowance rate for the first 12 months of the tenancy.
