Under the Platinum scheme the council takes family-sized properties on a lease of 2 to 5 years, providing guaranteed rent and full property management including day-to-day repairs, with no fees, commission or set-up costs. Properties house households in housing need referred by the council.
Under the Gold scheme the landlord lets a family-sized property and manages it with council support, receiving up to a £1,000 incentive payment, rent guaranteed for 12 months, a deposit guarantee worth one month's rent, and free tenant matching and vetting. A lighter-touch Silver scheme (any property size) pays up to £250 with a deposit guarantee but no rent guarantee. The incentive payment is not repayable.
