Deposit/bond guarantee equivalent to one calendar month's rent
Eligibility

The council provides a deposit/bond guarantee equivalent to one calendar month's rent instead of a cash deposit for waiting-list tenants placed through Private Rented Solutions. Landlords can claim against the bond for damage or rent arrears at the end of the tenancy. Standard 12-month AST; the council wants 1-3 bed properties at around LHA rents. Contact 0114 205 3112.

Private Rented Solutions rent guarantee

Guaranteed rent / leasing
Rent guaranteed for the fixed term of the tenancy (typically 12 months) plus damage cover
Eligibility

Under Private Rented Solutions the council guarantees the rent for the fixed term of the tenancy (standard 12-month AST) and covers tenant damage via its Damage Liability Scheme. Tenants come from the council waiting list, so rents need to be around LHA rates (no more than ~10% above); rent is paid 4-weekly. Free to join with a dedicated account manager.
