Swansea offers a landlord incentive scheme - money paid or guaranteed to landlords who let to council-referred tenants, such as guaranteed rent, rent in advance or a deposit guarantee. Each scheme below links to the council's own page where you can verify eligibility and apply.

Guaranteed rent / leasing

Guaranteed LHA-rate rent for 5-20 years; property grants up to £5,000 (£25,000 for empty homes)

Eligibility

National Welsh Government scheme delivered by all 22 Welsh local authorities including Swansea: landlords lease to the council for 5-20 years for guaranteed LHA-rate rent, full management and tenant support, with grants of up to £5,000 (£25,000 for empty properties) to meet the required standard and EPC C. Tenants are households in housing need referred by the council.

Notes

Participates in both Welsh Government empty-homes schemes: National Empty Homes Grant (up to £25,000) and Houses Into Homes interest-free loan (up to £25,000 per property, £250,000 per application). Covered by welsh-government umbrella.
